Restaurant Review – Masuya Japanese Restaurant, Sydney

Lunch_ShogunBento

Masuya http://www.masuya.com.au/en/masuya/index.html   is one of a chain of five Japanese Restaurants around the Sydney area. I had previously been to Miso which is an upmarket Sushi Train with very fresh ingredients, so thought Masuya was worth a try.

Amazingly almost every table was taken when we arrived for the second lunch sitting for the day. The noise caused by so many diners spoiled what would otherwise have been a very nice ambiance of good quality furnishings and indirect lighting.

The service was a bit slow, although the meals arrived quickly once ordered.

Masuya didn’t disappoint on quality. The fish was very fresh and tender, served sashumi style. The sushi was excellent and the teriyaki chicken tender and delicious.

It was good value as well. The Shogun Bento Box (pictured above) was $29.80. I had a similar bento called the Masuya which was $27.80. It was certainly more that I could eat.
